Educational Workshops
• Introduction to Afghan Music: Engaging talks in exploring the traditional music, its characteristics and the traditional instruments.
• Hands on Workshop with the Students: Exploring one or two traditional songs from iconic Afghan artists, teaching and collaborating with the students. emphasize on unique traditional rhythm and modes.
• Masterclasses: Each one of the members of the ensemble offers to teach private classes on their instruments, vocal, harmonium, piano, violin and Tabla. Piano and violin can be in western classical music as well as the mix of east/Afghan and west and some techniques that can masterfully mix the traditional instruments with the western classical instruments.
• Question and Answer session: Offering Q&A sessions to students and the audience members so they can learn about the ensemble, its history, their music, and the backgrounds of each member of the ensemble.
• Workshop on Afghan Music and Poetry: Explore the intricate relationship between music and poetry in Afghan music and culture, with a focus on composition and performance.
The ensemble is hoping for these workshops and sessions to be a unique opportunity for students/audience to engage with Afghan music and culture, and to also learn and know more about the rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan.
